If you're going to be pedantic about the new decade starting in 2021 because "there was no year 0", then you also have to be pedantic about the new decade starting on January 11, 2021, because there were no October 5-14, 1582. :steven_pun:

@noelle my argument for why the decade starts on 0, is that my first decade as a baby started at 0. 😅

@noelle but I think Koreans would refute this evidence.

Yeah and Chinese too. When I was born (August), I was considered 1. The following Chinese New Year (usually end-Jan to early-Feb) I turned 2. But I was still 0 to most westerners. Imagine my confusion as a kid moving from country to country. When people asked me how old I was, I wouldn't know how to answer, and some would give me the "oh poor you don't know how to count" look 🤪

@cybette yeaaaah.... Cultural differences are a HOOT.

I love em, but for 5 year olds, as well as 50 year olds, it's confusing AF. :D

Totally. On the plus side, growing up we got 2 birthdays (lunar & Gregorian calendars) where we celebrate different ages. Nowadays I just stick to the younger age (if I remember what it is). 😂
