The log from Harvard Mark II (pic bellow) is frequently (mis)attributed as the originator of the term "bug" in computer programming.
Note how it say's "First actual case of bug being found", that's because the metaphorical "bug" was already common in electrical engineering prior to being adapted by the software folks.
So moth or no moth, we would've called our missing semicolons bugs regardless!
