Time to pick the collective brain...

Any know of good open source desktop or self-hosted personal book library management software? I'm think something like a self hosted librarything.com ...

I tried searching, but "open source library" doesn't get you very far :D

@gwmngilfen Would something like Calibre qualify?

@thejf @gwmngilfen Yes if you only need ebook management, Calibre is great.

Or are you looking for a GoodReads replacement that's self hosted?

@eliasg @thejf calibre I know and love, but no - I'm looking to catalogue my physical books. I came across inventaire.io but that's not ready for self hosting yet, from what I can see. Might give it a spin anyway...

@gwmngilfen @thejf that looks interesting. thank you for the link.

i might be able to use it with friends here in Taiwan. i can see what books they physically own and i can borrow from them.

@eliasg @thejf indeed, but self hosting / federation is on their roadmap. Maybe I'll give it a try anyway, not found anything better yet...

@gwmngilfen @thejf you can always export your data out of it too. they have that feature already.

@gwmngilfen I use calibre but I want a way to track what books I read, other than just an excel file.
