The enchanting C19th gunpowder works of Kennal Vale. One of Cornwall's post-industrial heritage sites, this gunpowder works was in operation from
1810-1910 and had more than its fare share of incidents during its time. The death of John Martin in 1841 is one of the most notorious accidents recorded there.
The explosion was so tremendous that John’s head was found a quarter of a mile away from the works. Local folklore suggests that a visit after dark might not be in your best interest. #cornwall
