I'm searching cars on carmax. I can search by number of cylinders in the engine (which I am surprised anyone searches by), but I cannot find a way to search by "number of asses I can sit in this car at the same time." Number of seats or number of people that can be seated isn't an option I can find!

Guess which fire alarm company is going to become famous on the fail blogs:

So Marcus Hutchins, of #WannaCry fame and who had been arrested in the US has pleaded guilty to writing banking #trojan software. Over on the birdsite there's lots of strong opinions. I blogged my opinion that it's a big world out there and trying to dismiss him as a criminal or pardon him because he's a hero are fundamentally misguided.

I collected a bunch of personal memorable moments on a blog post: highest height, coldest temperature, farthest north/south/east/west, etc. Includes some photos.

The web browser Brave is marketed as a privacy-friendly ad-free alternative, but that's pretty disingenuous.

Brave exists not to protect privacy, but to make money from selling ads.

Brave is a commercial company funded by venture capital. Its business model is selling advertising and cryptocurrency investment.

One of Brave's owners is Peter Thiel's Founders Fund. Thiel is also the head of Palantir ( and on the board of Facebook.

I do not recommend using Brave.

Neither the Boing Boing, nor the BBC article do any justice or any interesting digging into the problem of fake reviews on Amazon. The two best bits I've seen are:
NPR's and, who actually use science and tech to actually dig into it.

I just received an email telling me that "the new system is mobile-enabled so you can consume enablement anywhere." Mmmm. Tasty enablement. Can't wait to consume some.

If only the people had pledged millions of euros to restore BEFORE it burned so spectacularly. We all need to wake up. If you cherish any of these things, start working to preserve them now:
β€’Β people you love
β€’Β art
β€’Β culture
β€’ rights and freedoms

Ultimately the fire of Notre Dame is a sad loss of art, and if someone is using it as an opportunity to propel their social capital with edgy jokes, it is adviseable to unfollow/mute/block them

One of the things about working at is the amount of constant learning. I learned 2 new languages today: EBNF and Go. I spent most of the morning learning all the different dialects of EBNF until I found one that was useful to me. Then I found an EBNF test module written in Go and needed to modify it. So I had to learn a bit of Go. Phew. My brain is tired.
