Just so people know, on the Fediverse I'm also on:
* Neurodifferent Mastodon - https://neurodifferent.me/@rbairwell for #adhd and #autism stuff
* Coding Mastodon - https://functional.cafe/@rbairwell for #php , #nodejs and other #programming / #devops stuff
* Backup Mastodon - https://hachyderm.io/@rbairwell In case of problems with any of the above and/or additional #devops and #infosec stuff
* Backup of Backup Mastodon - https://universeodon.com/@rbairwell In case any of the above are unavailable(!)
@rbairwell Do you find the neurodifferent instance useful? I might make an account there. I've been on an ADHD path of self discovery since last October (no diagnosis, 5yr+ waiting list, ugh).
@jacpl A little bit - but not massively at the moment: still kinda coming to terms with it after my diagnosis and treatment from https://www.adhd-360.com/ this time last year (I went NHS Right 2 Choose and was ~7 months wait, Wife went private via them 2 months ago and got diagnosis on Friday).
Added: At the moment, ADHD-360's NHS Right 2 Choose waitlist (i.e. free) is signing up for Summer next year - https://www.adhd-360.com/right-to-choose/ .
@rbairwell Quite a shock to the system isn't it.
My GP has been less than helpful thus far. I'll have to look into the right to choose thing more. Did you find adhd-360 good to deal with, if you don't mind me asking?
I was tempted to save and go private, but then realised there's no guarantee my GP would play nicely with shared care, and I couldn't afford the meds in that case.
@jacpl Yep, they've been good to my wife and I+no major problems (well, there was one when they switched pharmacy but that was more them than ADHD360: took a week to get sorted).
Having trouble with your GP - have a look at https://adhduk.co.uk/diagnosis-pathways/ - I wrote to my GP with the screener test results and waited ~6 weeks. If GP won't "play nice", there are routes around - if you mention "duty of care" it usually works.
If you have R2C and get free NHS scripts,meds r free:but private you pay
@rbairwell Thanks, that's immensely helpful! Think I'll try that then. I've just been putting off the prospect of another semi-confrontational phone consultation with my GP, but I can write a letter, that's miles better for me.
