Learning about the D'Hondt method of vote allocation (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%27Hond) in preparation for the Euro elections. However I suspect total MEP's will be less important than turnout and vote share.

@stsquad D'hondt seems to cultivate culture of collaboration between diverse parties, while the winner-takes-all FPTP creates toxic political climate of "our team" Vs "bad people"

@suihkulokki so in my case I'm trying to work out how penalised smaller parties are because despite the ease of analysing the overall vote share as a proxy for a 2nd referendum you can be damn sure that if the parties get 1 more MEP than the remain parties it will be an "vindication" of their current brexit at all costs strategy. I suspect for this election no one much cares about the MEPs themselves (unfortunately).
