Time for my first virtual conference - will slack make up for the hallway track?

Well it seems copy and pasting crypto stuff isn't enough - looking more deeply is definitely a Monday problem though.

Does this mean the most predictable Ask ARM Anything question will have to change next time we have a real Connect?

.@Collabora@twitter.com is now developing open-source Mali driver in collaboration with @Arm@twitter.com, so there's no need for reverse-engineering, and development work on the driver should go more smoothly.

I had a lot of trouble getting my head around (too many ()'s) but once I did I have to say my random hacks do spark joy. I don't know how much is down to it being lisp and how much is due to ' fungability.

What's the most fun programming language to write software in? And why is it Lisp?

In Wales, we’re asking you to keep working from home if you can.

We think this is an opportunity for a permanent change. Our aim is for 30% of workers to work from or near home.

This will reduce traffic, support local businesses and provide flexibility. What do you think?

Swabbing your own tonsils is . Now we wait.

I'll certainly be putting on a mask so I can watch this on a big screen.

I see the photo they have used for the page is the audience laughing at a joke on my keynote slide. It has aged better than Google+ did.

One positive change of the switch from Google Play music to YouTube Music seems to be the ability to do a property party playlist (or at least both me and the other half able to queue music, no pandemic parties required).

Finally got around to watching Knives Out last night with my partner. Many twists and much fun. Definite recommend.

"As a knight," the king said, "it is your duty to kill dragons."
"Very well, my liege," the knight said. "Um. May I ask why?"
"Because they hoard wealth without sharing, and people live in fear of their capricious moods."
"Very well, my liege," the knight said and drew his sword.

Mad respect for Hans Buhr, who built a working model Antonov An-225 *and* a glide-functioning model Buran Soviet space shuttle, then strapped them together and launched one from the other

Ran into this cool paper while I was searching for details about ARM64's VHE: "Optimizing the Design and Implementation of the Linux ARM Hypervisor" : usenix.org/system/files/confer

The explanation/rationale for VHE makes a lot of sense. Plenty of good arch/KVM intro material too.

84 years young today! Wishing a very happy birthday to the incomparable computer scientist Margaret H. Hamilton. 🎂

It may not be pretty but it works. The GTX card with it's slightly cropped faceplate was able to manage an EFI framebuffer and boot a kernel with working serial and Ethernet. Getting properly running can wait until I'm back on the clock.
