@wyliecoyoteuk @basil It's fortunate that you are both in a minority then although unless something brilliant happens between now and May 2024 I suspect we will have the likes of
🤣 🤣 🤣
All the consent bitching is not going to change anything. If Boris goes he will only be replaced given the Tories have just over 2yrs left. Labour is not going to make the same mistake as last time and call for a vote of no confidence. As for the other so-called parties, they're a joke and not even worth thinking about.
@wyliecoyoteuk @basil I cannot ever see that changing. I honestly thought Angela Raynor might be a contender until it was hammered home that all she knows is how to trot out the same old same old of the 70s' "Get the rich to pay for everything!" If only there was enough rich people or rich people's money in the UK to fulfil Labours "Spend, spend, spend." mentality.
I refuse to consider any other parties. We have a two-party system anything else is just hot air.
@dick_turpin @basil Actually, as ever, you ignore the facts.
Wealth in this country is concentrated in a few fa!ilies, and it has been getting worse since they owned the government.
The Tory party lost whatever integrity it had when it decided to become the Brexit party, and disposed of any free thinkers in its ranks. Much like the GOP in America has become the Trump party.
@wyliecoyoteuk @basil And as always you focus too much on this so-called wealth. I thought we were on our arse because we left the EU? Didn't all these rich people leave? No, we need to focus on getting the country back on its feet, clearing the huge COVID bill and building relations with trading partners around the world. Arguing over drinks at No.10 just distracts people from the much larger challenges this country faces. It was wrong, I get that. But it ain't gonna bring the government down.
@wyliecoyoteuk @basil Meh, there's always ways to make money out of misery, sorrow and collapse. The thing to remember is, "Nobody ever got rich by working for somebody else." Taxing the rich to oblivion just like offering the NHS a blank cheque is not the answer. The solution has far more elements required than a simplistic naive view that "Money solves everything." it doesn't.
@wyliecoyoteuk @basil Well, I think people need to be sensible about that and not emotional. I agree/accept some dodgy people may well have been awarded contracts, but people should realise the country was in panic mode and the government rightly or wrongly was handing out contracts to anyone that said they could supply. I suspect there will be a full parliamentary enquiry in the next few years.
@dick_turpin @wyliecoyoteuk @basil
The "other" parties , should consider a combined approach with some pragmatic policies.
Then we may get a choice.
Meanwhile we have
Public school boys with no knowledge of how the real world works on both sides of the house.
Right, thats me done with politics............for now.
@stannard @wyliecoyoteuk @basil TBH, it was a disgrace the way David Cameron treated the Liberals. They would be the Tories natural ally. Now they will never trust the Tories ever again. The problem is, Labour has no interest in building bridges with other parties either mainly because they're scared of any political views they don't have control of. (You don't get off that easy. 🤣 )
