If you use Firefox Sync to send web pages from mobile to devices with a larger screen, it's very annoying to see all your computers named as "user's Firefox on ...", "user's Firefox on ...", ... so you can't tell which icon is which.

Under the Account → Settings menu (which may only be under the hamburger menu) there's an Account Settings page that allows you to change your computer name to something shorter.

Podcasts were, generally, a lot of nerds nerding about stuff that was interesting to them and to some others.

But it was sufficiently populous to pull the then BBC index of all podcasts down when it ran out of dB connections, ok there were other reasons for that.

Now it's celebrities talking to other celebrities about stuff that is interesting to them and I guess others.

And it's a cheap way to rebroadcast.

There are a lot of noises that sound different over the phone to me than in person. One is the sound of a person chewing their food. Perhaps it is because there BT is in contact with their face when they are chewing.

I'm not shy about ending a conversation because I don't want to hear someone chew.

Yet I have a friend that will call me after visiting a drive-through and call me chewing hashbrowns. I always end the call quickly and say why.

Well THIS explains everything! Forever, it seems, I was having issues with inline autocorrect in Telegram. If I started a large word near the end of the entry space, it would cut the first part off and insert the word it thought I wanted after the unfinished word. Very, VERY annoying. I had to turn off all the extra bits just to have a sane typing experience.

It seem that 14.3.1 has fixed that, so maybe I'll turn it on again. #apple #autocorrect #annoyances mjtsai.com/blog/2024/02/09/mac

i hate crap like this. please stop interrupting what i'm doing to show me something that is 100% not useful to me and is all about increasing whatever metrics you're trying to optimize 🤬🤬🤬

anyway, instead of doing something useful or enjoyable, i'm now trying to figure out how to disable this from ever appearing again. i don't care how cute your waving fox logo is

I like #Mastodon, but there are some specific #annoyances that I feel all the time, listen here for reference:
1. Often a comment being presented as if it were a root-level post, and it's difficult to find the conversation it's a part of.
3. Related, sometimes have to open a post's original page to view its context, meaning, to then interact with it, I have to _then_ paste its URL into my home instances' search box.
2. A comment's boosts and likes are mostly hidden (or presented as "1+") unless I go to its original page, and even then it's rarely accurate.
4. My timeline sometimes gets truncated. I'm pretty sure there should be more than 21 posts on it right now, but there seems to be no way to load more.
