@remi I worked until recently, about 50, but I know plenty who keep going longer. Many of the larger companies have plenty of room for experienced people without getting into management; I worked with lots of people a similar age. I'm certainly slower than the youngsters, but give me a fun bug and I love chasing it. There are also 'technical lead' roles that aren't management - e.g. a bit more design than actually day-to-day coding.
