Neil Darlow<p>I've come to the realization that if you run a compliant mail server (with DKIM, DMARC and SPF) then you become a target for brute-force password attacks because those Spammers do like their mail to be delivered reliably.</p><p>This seems to work in practice. I've noticed a lot of Spam, incoming, which passes all those checks and it only gets sent to my Junk folder due to the excellent efforts of Bogofilter.</p><p>If you run a mail server, make sure it'll stand up to these attacks.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/email" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>email</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.me.uk/tags/StopTheSpam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StopTheSpam</span></a></p>
Lily Star<p>Getting super tired of people making duplicate posts from their primary account AND pixelfed (and sometimes a third or fourth account). </p><p>These are all on the same federated network. All you are doing is catching mutes and blocks. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/photos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photos</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pixelfed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pixelfed</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/duplicate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>duplicate</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/StopTheSpam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StopTheSpam</span></a></p>
Med Marrouchi<p>Why is it that when you share a project you're passionate about on a channel or social media, it gets labeled as spam? Yet, we're constantly bombarded with ads we never asked for, and that's just "normal"? 🤔</p><p>Supporting independent creators and open-source projects should be celebrated, not silenced. Let’s rethink what real spam is and start amplifying the voices that deserve to be heard!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SupportCreators" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SupportCreators</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TechCommunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TechCommunity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EthicalMarketing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EthicalMarketing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/StopTheSpam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StopTheSpam</span></a></p>
RichardInSandy<p>A huge uptick in spam these last couple of days has proven really irritating. I have been blocking and reporting but still the spam comes. These arseholes who think that sending a picture of a tin of spam is funny deserve a slap. Make it stop ! Please. Any suggestions ? Blocking domains seems like overkill, but if that’s what it takes. <a href="https://c.im/tags/StopTheSpam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StopTheSpam</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/spam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>spam</span></a></p>
