Another Touching moment from my expedition to Nagano last week capturing two Wild Snow Monkeys of Japan as they huddle together for warmth and protection from the wind as the snow system intensified. Print at filmstudiojapan.com - Snow Monkeys 2024! Finally made it back after 2 years. Last time was the depth of winter, this time there were still traces of fall as this second snow system of the year moved in. This photo caught my attention upon returning. A close bonding moment after the larger Snow Monkey of Japan had a Fight. The smaller Monkey looks off in the distance with a protective caring expression. #snowmonkeys #japan #galleryprints #filmstudiojapan.com #independent #photographer
One of the best things? There were snow monkeys even in the skiing resort!!
The cute little creatures apparently live in the areas between the slopes and didn't seem much disturbed by the humans.
I still couldn't shake off the feeling that I was invading their habitat, though
Nevertheless, it was a spectacular day, and seeing the monkeys made it even more special.

Thank you to the whole #FOSS community of developers in the #fediverse This video was able to be made because of you. Thank you for your effort to continue improving our online world of creativity & communities. After burning out from years of supporting #Apple & #Adobe subscriptions; I created nothing for four years. Thank you @kde for your continued development of @kdenlive I’m beyond amazed how far these projects have come and how much easier it is to use allowing more time to focus on the creativity intended.
These clips were from a trip earlier this year to Japan to see the infamous Japanese Snow Monkeys (Macaques) at the Jigokudani Monkey Park. Thanks for giving me a chance to stay creative and share a unique experience. Hope this shares a smile.
I think I was shooting a long time before I figured out why, but that's a necessary thing. If I knew why from the beginning, I wouldn't have had the skill to do it. but it makes me happy when I can go way back into the archives and find the old photos that show that the why was there, even if it wasn't consciously articulated. #StreetPhotography #photography #Japan #SnowMonkeys #Jigokudani #Japan
Japanese monkeys soak in an open-air hot spring at the tropical botanical garden in Hakodate, Hokkaido, northern Japan. The macaques, also known as snow monkeys, frequently enjoy a dip in the thermal pool in Jigokudani valley.

Macaques huddle together for warmth at a hot spring in Nagano, Japan. Known as snow monkeys, the animals soak in the 40C water every day during cold weather, spending their bathtime grooming, snoozing and playing on visitors’ camera tripods.
