might start posting some clips on here to document my progress. if that turns out to be a bad idea, i can blame @huuhaa ;)
Was playing a Chinese song (月亮代表我的心) for my mom on mother's day. Tripped over some notes but the effect was cooler than I intended
Original song sounds like this: (in a different key) https://youtu.be/hj4bnnek9MU
Let me entertain you with The Entertainer! Or rather my embarrassing beginner's rendition... Might not be a good idea to use the RODE mic after all as it picks up all the details of my laboured breathing and bad playing
Memory from Cats (musical), played to a collection of memories from mid-May over the past decade. Things I miss: travel, playing with the orchestra, hanging out with people...
(Yeah, could've added piano accompaniment to the video, maybe next time )
One year ago: Trips for orchestra and conferences AND visiting friends & family
Theme from Dvorak's #NewWorldSymphony - Largo. Originally played by the English Horn, transposed and butchered by me. Now I'm just getting complacent and transposing everything to the comfortable lower register. Need to break out of my comfort zone and face the high notes.
#oldcarolnewtricks Week 3.
The #PinkPanther series features an incompetent inspector Clouseau, so this White Penguin series gets me as the inept #Clarinet player
(also an incompetent videographer - didn't think the sun's glare would totally wash out Fuzzbutt the penguin until too late)
This week I'm gonna focus on “embouchure”, so maybe no videos to torture my followers
Haven't given up on the #clarinet yet, just practicing a couple times a week instead of daily like the first 2 weeks Having a backing track really emphasize how out of tune I am, but I haven't quite learnt how to properly tune it yet. I suspect it's very different from tuning the timpani
