So, if drug taking is to be allowed under supervision, I take it. The next step is to open supervised brothels.
And then you ask why this country's values are going down the shitter. #LeSigh
@dick_turpin I'm happy to be the wet liberal here. It's much better to have addicts in a supervised setting where they can access services for their many other issues than breaking into houses to finance their future overdose. That is the first step into rehabilitation and becoming healthy members of society again.
@stsquad I suppose if we accept the premise "If we save but one, it'll be worth it." but I suspect the majority have no intention of giving up.
I wonder what the criteria is? "Hi, I've never tried MDMA any chance of a session?"
@dick_turpin @stsquad They aren't supplying the drugs, they're just providing a safe environment for consumption.
@OldGitPhil @stsquad Hmm? Is drug taking safe?
@dick_turpin @OldGitPhil I don't think there are many activities that are truly safe - but it can certainly be safer. A lot of the harms of drugs come from secondary risk factors. It's possible to take #mdma in a clinical/therapy setting pretty safely while large sections of the population have a very unhealthy relationship with #alcohol. While #fentanyl can be used "safely" as a prescription drug most addict deaths are due to getting the dosage wrong.
